Audition
Ballet Chicago has partnered with DanceApply to make the audition registration process simple and seamless.
Free Trial Class (3 - 7 yrs)
Auditions are not required for students 7 years and younger. This includes all Preparatory Division levels and Ballet 1A.
Students 7 years and younger are welcome to schedule a free trial class.
Audition (8 yrs +)
VIDEO AUDITION: $30 Audition Fee
Please include the following classroom exercises:

Barre Work

Center Floor
-
Tendu
-
Adagio
-
Pirouettes
-
Waltz
-
Small Jumps
-
Big Jumps
-
Pointe work (if applicable)
Please keep the video simple and ensure you are the only person featured in the video. The video is intended to showcase your class work, not a choreographic exercise. If you have a performance video, you are welcome to submit it along with the audition video.
The full video should be no more than 15-20 minutes in length.
In-Class Audition (8 yrs +)
Auditions are required for students 8 years and older. Please fill out the Google Form below to submit your application.
IN-CLASS AUDITION: $30 Audition Fee
Dancers can also schedule an audition class at Ballet Chicago. Students attending an in-class audition should not apply through DanceApply. Instead, an application form will be provided upon arrival. Please bring printed copies of a headshot and a photo in 1st arabesque (no larger than 5x7 inches).
