What Sets Ballet Chicago Apart

Our model is distinct from most company-affiliated training programs. Ballet Chicago offers a uniquely nurturing yet rigorous environment dedicated to cultivating exceptional artists and individuals. Our distinct approach includes:

  • World-Class Balanchine-Based Training
A curriculum rooted in the Balanchine aesthetic, delivered by expert faculty with deep professional experience.

  • Membership in the Ballet Chicago Studio Company
Dancers gain invaluable stage experience through major Balanchine works, other acclaimed repertory, and 10 performances of our critically acclaimed Nutcracker at two premier Chicago venues: The Harris Theater for Music and Dance and the Athenaeum Center for Thought and Culture.

  • Performance Opportunities

Since its inception, BCSC has presented over 1000 performances across Chicago, the Midwest, and Canada, with             annual seasons at the historic Athenaeum Center for Thought and Culture in Lakeview and the Harris Theater for           Music and Dance in downtown Chicago.

  • Opportunities to Perform Soloist and Principal Roles
Students are frequently cast in featured roles, allowing for artistic growth and performance experience beyond ensemble work.

  • Robust National Connections
Ballet Chicago maintains strong relationships with regional and national companies to support successful dancer placement.

  • Comprehensive Career Counseling
Each dancer receives personalized guidance, including company research, audition strategy, and preparation of audition videos, photos, cover letters, and résumés.

  • Financial Accessibility
We are committed to accessibility, offering need-based financial aid and merit scholarships covering up to 100% of tuition.

  • Supportive Transition Resources
Our Year-Round Program Guide assists students and families with relocating to Chicago, finding housing, and navigating city life.

At Ballet Chicago, we prepare dancers not only for careers in ballet, but also for success in whatever path they choose.
