WAITING IN THE WINGS
When one waits in the Wings, there is a palpable sense of anticipation, excitement, and nerves, feelings we can all relate to today as we hope to return to the studio, the stage, our schools, and our lives.
Waiting in the Wings is a project that was initiated by Ballet Chicago parent, Jen VanEekeren, while reflecting on the importance of ballet in her daughter's life since the pandemic started in March. Ballet continues to give structure and certainty during these trying times. Jen's passion project swiftly inspired other parents to send in videos and photographs of their children who are also grateful for Ballet Chicago's steadfast approach to keep everyone dancing. Jen's sister, Lizzie Kirchner, was also motivated to compose the music for this piece. The result is a testament to the love and strength of the Ballet Chicago Family. Thank you to Luke VanEekeren for your time and talent in making this vision come to life.
Stay safe. Dance on. Enjoy the video!
